What if you closed your eyes to sleep and woke up the next day to see someone else doing the very thing God told you to do? You’d probably feel guilty and sad, as if your reward had been taken from you.
We’ve all been there. Maybe it’s exhaustion, fear, or even pride that makes us put things off. As valid as those reasons may seem, they don’t change the fact that God told us to act—yesterday or this morning. So let me be real with you: procrastination is wrong, and no matter how genuine your excuse sounds, you need to repent.
Think about the parable of the Ten Virgins—five were wise, and five were foolish. What set them apart? The wise ones brought extra oil, while the foolish ones relied only on what was in their lamps. I can almost hear their reasoning: "The Bridegroom won’t take long; our lamps will be fine." (I’m sure they were all friends, and the two most convincing ones talked the others into it! 😅)
But when the Bridegroom finally arrived, their lamps had run out. They had the extra time, but instead of preparing, they slept—and in the end, they missed the wedding feast.
Psalm 119:32
[32] I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart!
I know obedience isn’t always easy, and it doesn’t always feel good. But can I tell you something? The fruit of obedience is so much sweeter. So check yourself—what is that one thing God has placed in your heart? What has He told you to do?
Go to Him, repent, and move quickly. Who knows? That very thing might be what connects you to your destiny helpers, lifelong friends, or even your spouse. 😉
Make haste today!
